Greetings CC member, I just want to know if you have any suggestions on beating the malicious PSAT and getting an high score on the PSAT. I made a 180( top 10 high scorer freshmen in my whole district) in my freshmen year and now I'm going back to school soon for my junior year and taking the PSAT in October and I want to at least be a national merit semifinalist. I'm taking a prep class this summer that costs $175 ( my principal was willing to pay for it too, how nice!) dollars but I don't think it helped me at all. Xiggi is right, most prep classes are almost useless. They did give us 3 practice PSATs though and here are my scores:

1st time 2nd time 3rd time
M:80(got really lucky) M:68(missed 4) M:70(missed 4 got all grid-in right)
CR: 62(missed 9) Cr:68(missed 6) CR:74( missed 3)
W:76(missed 2) W:73(missed 2) W:73 (missed 2)
218 209 217

I actually got these scores without studying. I don't know how I did it, which is bad because I know how important school is and I know I need to start studying. Reading the motivational stories on this forum such as Arachnotron's and Masochist's has really motivated me because I now realize I can be so much better. Oh, and read Noitaraperp's guide, it is very useful.
