How do you become part of the Orange Krush?

Also, is it harder for freshman to join than it is for upperclassmen?

You have to join Illini Pride first. Then you have to raise a certain dollar amount per 3 point shot that the team makes that season. for freshman it is easier to make the varsity level than for upperclassmen. It is a $1.50 per 3/pt shot for everyone but freshman for varsity level, and i think it is $1.20 for freshman? For All-American is it $3.00 for everyone.

The more money you raise, the better seats you get, the more likely you’ll get to travel, the more likely you’ll go to the team’s NCAA Tournament game.

i went down there for registration yesterday, and the girl at the Orange Krush booth said that freshman have to raise $1.00 per three point made by the Illini. They average about 225 threes made per year over the last ten years (not including the Final Four year in which they made 344). You can also get flat pledges.

Right. If they still run it the same way as they did before, they equate $25 to $0.10/3-pt. In other words, you have to raise $250 to join as a freshman or $750 to join at the All-American level. The All-American members get to line up in a separate line that gets let into the Assembly Hall first.

Let me tell you, I had one heck of a time doing Orange Krush for my 4 years at Illinois. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
