How do you calculate UC GPA?

I'm a bit confused. Help?

Here's the UC website that explains it.

<a href="http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/freshman/scholarship_reqs.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/freshman/scholarship_reqs.html</a></p>

Only 10th and 11th grade classes count. Only UC-approved a-g classes count (not PE). If you're in-state, your school counselor will tell you if any of your other classes are not a-g classes (our school sends home course list that puts an asterisk by those classes - things like Beginning Guitar). Pluses and minuses don't count. The letter grades are A=4, B=3, etc., but if it's a UC-approved honors or AP class, you can add an extra point, so that A=5, B=4, etc. Only for 8 honors/AP classes, but that's more than pretty much anyone will take.

Hope this helps!
