I can only calculate the UC gpa, but how do we calculate it?
Help!

Weighted GPA allows for you to way your AP classes. For weighted GPA getting an A in an AP class would be a 5, B is 4 and so on.

Example: Weighted

History: A (4)
Math: B (3)
AP Science A (5)

Unweighted:

History: A (4)
Math B (3)
AP Science A (4)

how about college courses?
do we do 9th-11th grade for college purposes?
do all courses count? do non-ag courses like pe and health count?

that’s ridiculously high. for my school, weighing is adding a third of a letter grade to the original grade. for ex, B+ becomes an A-, from a 3.33 to a 3.66. No wonder people on CC have such high weighted averages.

It depends on the high school and/or college. Some school weight honors classes and AP classes with an extra half point (.5) weight. Dual enrollment classes can either be a half point (.5) or full point (1.0). It depends on how many credit hours each college class counted as. To get specific weights, contact the college you’re applying to and get an opinion from an admissions officer.

The standard for weighted GPAs is 1 additional point for a grade of “C” or higher in an AP class. Some schools will have a .5 adder for Honors classes, though I don’t know how widely accepted that approach is.

Here’s a link to a calculator though I would only count your AP classes for the “Honors” number.

Colleges typically only count academic courses when considering GPA, no P.E., Health or Band/Art.
