How do you check your application status if you used the CommonApp?

I got a postcard in the mail today that said “We’ve received your American University admissions application!” But when I got to my AU portal it says I haven’t submitted yet. This might because I didn’t use their application. Where can I check the status if I used the CommonApp?

i don't think it has to do with your using the Comm App. i think the two are not sync, portal vs mailing. i'd call admissions and have them answer you. good luck.

My daughter received letters every two weeks since submitting her Common Application which updated her on the status of her various credentials. The last letter we received stated that if everything was received and processed, we wouldn't be hearing from them again. We didn't. So, we are assuming that everything is complete.

We sent in paper app. I recall receiving a letter with a portal log-on id and password. Then just kept signing in for status. Call admissions if your app is not showing up.

So does everyone receive these cards with an ID and password? I applied commonapp too. Should I have received one?

I didn't get one... I used the CommonApp.

i didnt get one either :-(

My daughter got an email saying her application materials were incomplete (common app) but when she registered on their site, it said they were all in…she wondered if it was a glitz or they just wanted her to register for the chats, etc.

My son submitted online common app and is now able to check status online. I don’t recall if he got an account in paper mail or via email, but there is definitely a way to get an online account and check status.

On the AU website you can check. you have to log in to the portal and they give you everything

as I remember, you go into the AU website, and sign up . They will give a student number, and then you create pwd, and tada! that’s it. I hope is the same now…

My D applied via Common App a while ago, and got an email fairly recently saying that they didn’t have everything. Her school had submitted it long ago, but it wasn’t showing up as received. So they have re-submitted.

Sounds like they’re working out some bugs.
