<p>You don't have to invest $300 in Adobe Acrobat. There are a number of cheaper programs available. They just don't have all of Adobe's bells and whistles (i.e. good file compression).</p>
<p>If it is just an occasional file that you need to convert, you can always use the Design Workstation at Kinko's (40 cents a minute). Expensive, but it only takes 2-3 minutes to convert most files to pdf.</p>
