how do you convert GPA?

My school's grading system is based on the 100 point scale and how would you change that to the 4.0 scale?

There are two common ways.

The first is to say all A's are 4, all B's are 3, and C's are 2, all D's are 1, and all F's are 0. You convert each grade into 0-4, add them all up, and divide by the number of classes.

The second way is to say 95+ is 4.0, 94 is 3.9, 93 is 3.8... etc.

The second way is more precise and can raise your GPA if you have high grades within their margins (86-89 if its a B, 76-79 if it's a C, etc). If not, it'll lower your GPA.

At a college where I took some classes, an A was 4.0, A- was 3.7, ... , and a B was a 2.0. I figured it might be the same for high schools, but this seems a bit harsh.

dang that does seem harsh haha ours is if you have an A-4.0 B-3.0 C-2.0
D-1.0, F-0.0

You know what works well, if you don't want to be official, and count up the A's and B's. Just take your grade (x) and divide by 100, then multiply by 4.0. Examples: x/100*4.0
