How do you deal with finding/keeping motivation to study? Procrastination?

I sometimes find myself studying here and there while taking 5-15 minute breaks in between every 30-45 minutes of studying (especially during finals week) Sometimes, I wonder off and that’s when my break time increases. The main reason I take breaks is to not overload by my brain by giving it a rest here and there.

So, how do you deal with studying for tests, quizzes, and exams effectively, without losing too much motivation? Maybe writing papers/doing projects as well? Eliminating distractions is an important thing for everyone, including me.

What your doing is actually recommended. Studying for short periods of time and digesting smaller amounts at a time. This works well especially for people with Adhd etc.

This book is a great read and has a great chapter on procrastination.

Also read about the “Pomodoro” method.

^To aid the Pomodoro method, I downloaded a Chrome extension called “Strict Workflow.” It prevents me from looking at websites I list, like Facebook and College Confidential! You can set the “block time” for as long or short as you like, then have a short break. It’s helped me a lot.
