I have so many career interests and i know high school is the time youre suppose to be thinking about what you want to major in and what you want to do for a living. But i want to do so many things, how can i decide?
I like law, psychology, theater/acting, fashion, writing, politics, art...etc.
I just want to do something that helps people. But how do I choose just one?

I admire the fact that you want to find something to do, but I think you're a little off. High school is not the time to figure out what you want to do in life. It is the time to figure out what you don't want to do. Are you absolutely horrible at history? Then don't major in it!
The average college freshman changes their college major at least twice. I suggest simply doing what you love. Take more advanced classes in politics, art, psychology, etc. Figure out which ones you like more. If you are worried about college, don't be. You can go in undeclared your first year, or you can major in business (which is usually the most common major for kids just out of high school) and switch later on.

Thanks for your advice. I guess I still have time to figure it out. It's just that I know all these people who know what they want to do and I have no clue.

I have so many interests, too; I like math, art, history, and government (also science, but only biology), but none of those stand out to me. Our school is making us work on pathfinder, which is a program that is supposed to help/guide us through high school and on to college or in to the workforce (this starts in 10th grade). It really bugs me though because we are forced to pick majors we are interested in, and I have no clue what I really want to do. Then we have to write a research paper and give an oral presentation (everyone HAS to). I wish they'd just give us a little more time to figure out what we like.

I took a career test that my guidance counselor gave me once, and it said I should do social/business? Anyone have any idea what that could entail?

Me - USMA/Military career, maybe some politik. But I knew since I was like 7. Of course sometimes I want something civilian but I can't sway myself.

I agree, we have almost the same thing, but only schools designed for them. ie. Law Magnet, Science Magnet, and ect. That distrubs me because if the pupil is only learning one thing and not learning things about the world he becomes book smart and not intelligent. He/She'll be a walked refrence book.

Take classes in all of them and pick the careers you don't fail classes in.
For instance: Take an art class, if you get a D, cross art off your list...

ok lets see..im horrible at math and science so ill cross off that on my list.

There should be no predefined plan. You should do what you feel driven to do at the moment. Life changes and sometimes, very, very drastically.
You should be open to changing your life any time.

I think that class idea thing is sort of silly. Who has the time to explore all the different classes and to take the risk of C's and D's that will ruin a perfectly good transcript? Plus, I'm excellent at math and science, but struggle in english sometimes. But I'll never be a mathematician or scientist (well, maybe a chemist, but not the point) and I'm leaning towards an English major in college.

I think the best thing to do is real life exploration. Visit museums, read books, take courses outside of school. Talk to people, explore! You'll figure it out someday.
