How do you determine tuition residency??

So
I applied to the UC (FINALLY!!)

but...

I'm very very concerned about how on step 8, it had something like "Residency for Tuition Purposes" with a few questions that asked if my parents or myself had been in CA for 3 or more years. I have never heard 3 years as the minimum! I thought it was 366 days? I'm so confused :(

Did anybody have this problem?

If for some reason I don't qualify for in state tuition, (and even that alone is too much,) I could not at all afford to go to the UC's. Ugh!

[University of California - Admissions](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/ca_residency.html)

I cannot give first hand information on the three years question as I have lived in California my whole life, but my guess is that if you have been here less than three years, you may have to submit additional information after acceptance. I know of others who had to submit supplemental information regarding residency for tuition purposes and I (technically) had the same “to-do” item. However, mine was listed as completed the moment it became available.

Thanks for the response!
I’m just a little frustrated over the fact that they asked if I’ve been living here 3 years.
Urgh

someone else plz! :)
