I've never visisted Duke, but I want to go there. My reasons are pretty simple: I like their management program and they have amazing school spirit. Plus the girls look good.

Any suggestions on how I write my Why Duke essay?

go online, look at what specifically about the research program interests you, and write on it.

i visited, but i didnt specifically write about my visit - there wasnt much to say as i visited during the summer, and didnt really see any classes or a lot of students on campus. i wrote more about the academics that interested me (i.e. the focus program, and the marine lab, etc)

Hey Reeze--

A bunch of my friends applied to Duke on a whim, and had to write that part without ever having visted campus.

It's not so bad-- find things typical to Duke that you like. In other words, show that you've done your homework. You're talking about Markets & Management, right? Tell them that you really like the broad, interdisciplinary focus MMS has, or whatever is attracting you to the program. Definitely mention school spirit-- people love joining a community that LOVES their community.

Things to leave out (IMO) - hot girls and basketball...
