Oh my!
What was really funny was that there is this chick in my school who has a lot of Duke clothes and stuff.
She was deferred ED- that made me and my friends laugh so hard.
She thought she was getting in or something like that- how arrogant.

yo what class/major was your dad?! my mom was '82 & Computer Science.

I imagine a Rice sweatshirt would get funny looks, even though they do play Division IA ball.

^especially if the student was Asian

The only shirts people I know have are Stanford/Harvard/Yale. Everytime I see someone wear one I get slightly annoyed... especially when it's people I KNOW are only interested for the school's name.

I know a guy who got into UPenn but wears a Berkeley sweater all the time.... lol

and I bought a NYU shirt when I went to visit over the summer and wear it! I worry about what I'll do with it if I don't end up going there, but otherwise it's simply a profession of my obsessive addiction to the school. -__-

I'm a legacy from a HYP....I wore it once a few weeks before decisions came out. I got deferred.

Extrasupervery... lolz you totally gave away that it was Yale :(.

I've been accepted somewhere and though I have quite a bit of apparel from my school, I generally don't wear it to school. I opt, instead, to wear it on the weekends or to random meetings and such. It works out nicely. I do however, wear Princeton sweatpants nearly everyday (I'm wearing them now!) and a Harvard sweatshirt on occasion... but I'm not pretentious, I swear!!!

Although it does get awkward when people excitedly ask if I've been accepted to H or P.

eating food, how do you know that it is this year? Could be deferred when ED was available at HP.

The number of pretentious, arrogant people in this thread is astonishing. "xx wore a sweatshirt from our STATE school! And he was talking about the fact that he got in! It's PATHETIC to see crap like that and he has no business doing that unless he got into an elite school like I did!!"

Seriously, get off your high horses

Almost everyone here owns a sweatshirt or other representing the state's university. SoI agree with TS2E4. Plus, while I dont live in Michigan, a lot of kids wear that school as well. You see lots of HYP but maybe not typically worn by those that go there. While they may not wear another ivy, they're definitely seen sporting the U one. So I always look at it like a athletic fan kind of thing.

ChemE and CompSci (of Cmoputer engineering or something) double major. '83 b.c it took him 5 years, otherwise he would have been 82 (serious)

but according to my dad there werent like any girls in RPI back then...maybe that was b/.c he lived in a frat

Eh, I don't really care. In my calc class, there's a kid with a Cornell sweater and another wearing a Penn sweater; another kid on my track team wears a Brown sweater.

But they only started wearing it after they got in.

ask him what frat!

my mom hung out with the Delta Phi guys all the timeee (no whore lol)

Hm...I think he was Lambda Chi Alpha. Not 100% sure.

does he have double initials (RR)?

I dunno u mean liek his name? Its JL

hmmm okay then he's not the guy my mom said he could be

well, fascinating nonetheless

I wear my USC sweatshirt all the time... but thats because I'm in love with the school. And I didn't just start wearing it in senior year... I've had the sweatshirt since 9th grade and wore it consistently. But I LOVE the school and I support their sports teams albiet from far away. I've worn the sweatshirt to school too on non-uniform days... most people have no idea what it means but I don't care. I love it, its warm and red and says USC and that makes me happy.

Technically I have UCLA one too (THE ENEMY) but thats only because I wanted to go to a USC/UCLA football game and the only way I could get there was with my uncle and he's a MEGA ucla fan... so I had to wear blue and betray my inner cardinal and gold. Don't really wear the UCLA one though anymore, although its smaller then the USC one and technically fits me better... but all that means is that its time to get a new USC sweatshirt lol

Does anyone remember the episode of the O.C. that featured the college sweatshirt bonfire? I thought that was a cool idea... except the O.C. is dead so very few probably even know what I'm talking about...

If I had a Columbia or Dartmouth sweatshirt I would wear it all the time. Beautiful colors.

I saw a guy wearing a Berkeley sweatshirt who was actually going to attend U of Oregon lol. I'll probably buy a Seattle U sweatshirt when I visit. Maybe not though, I'm not a big fan of hoodies....

I ended up getting that hoodie lol

I dont know...I am not big on clothes/brands anyway. So long as its not obscene or insulting I rarely even notice what others are wearing. I was homeschooled but I live in a town with 4 colleges (2 uni, 2 jr.), mostly everyone wears gear to their school of choice, though there are two states within a days drive from where I live, so sometimes I'll see people from schools in those states.

I am starting at the bigger jr. college in the summer and I hope to attend both uni's. One for my BS and the other for law, so I HOPE to wear gear from 3 of the 4 schools. I dont care what people wear though.
