I'm thinking of interning in a law office but I have a quick ?. Would it be wrong to send a letter saying I'm interested in learning more about law, etc, w/ a resume to a bunch of law firms in the same area? Or would I be better off waiting to hear back from the first one at the risk that I get multiple job offers, and have to turn people down? I'm new at this stuff so I'm not sure what to do, but I think sooner is better then later and if I want to intern this summer I better start finding an internship soon :) Thanks.

Email and mail as many as possible. Trust me dont expect to have a crowd of law firms lining at your feet asking you to join. High schoolers are pretty much useless at law firms ;). I had an internship last year and that was after some serious work. I was like the only high school intern there. Maybe the case will be different with you as NYC is pretty competitive.

Thanks for the priceless info! How many did you actually contact b4 u got one, just curious.

Around 5 or so places. Then I just focused in on one that I found the most interesting. I saw a place on my schools bulliten board about a place that was even paying high school interns. But I have no idea what the name of it was.
