I have been having a hard time forcing myself to like reading a passage. How do you guys "get into" reading the passage?

Do you have any tips on how to develop a confident mind set when taking the SAT?

I need to change my thinking, because I find myself overlooking words while reading.

if u´re overlooking words, that´s no problem. it might look silly, but there is no embarrassment on the sat: just take ur finger (or any other thing, pencil, anything works) and read along with it. u know like putting ur finger on the line where you are, and go along with it. it helps…
otherwise… well, read the passage- then read the questions, but NOT the answers and go back to the line to which the question refers. read it again, and only then read the answers. it helps not getting stuck to an answer because it looks okay, but rather actually reminds u of what the line actually contains…
GOOD LUCK!!!

make notes in the margins. after each paragraph, write a one- or two-sentence summary of the paragraph and its main idea in the margins. it helps immensely - this is coming from someone who raised her CR score 90 points just by doing that :]
