How Do You Get Recruited 4 Cross Country/TracK?

Hello, I'm trying to help my friend get recruited for Cross Country or Track Division 2 or 3. I don't thing she's as strong for Division 1. But how would she go about getting recruited if she is already a senior, is it too late for her, she just barelly took her SAT's yesterday and her gpa is like a 2.5. I'm not sure how it all works, could someone help me help her? Besides filling out the application for the NACA(I don't think that's the name, but you get my point), what else does she have to do? Is she suppose to call coaches at the school?

Off topic, this is for my interests, but how fast are Division 2 and 3 runners? Like if they had to run a mile how fast would they complete it in?

My d got recruited for XC and track at D3 schools. Her best times when she filled out the recruiting forms were 5:25 for the mile and 20:40 for 5K (which improved further this fall). This was paired with good grades and SAT's. You can go to the schools' websites and e-mail the coaches directly. Is your friend looking for money? D3 schools don't offer athletic scholarships (aside from the usual financial aid you get based on need). If they really want her it may not be too late, as some of their other prospects will be getting into other schools ED and may create new opportunities. But she should move fast. Her GPA won't be good enough at top schools unless she's really accomplished. But I am sure there would be many schools that would be interested in her. Good luck to her! We also heard that colleges like distance runners because it takes a lot of discipline and a high level of commitment.

From my understanding, she's really good at long distance, because she gains pace as she runs, so like if it's a really short distance she'll probably not perform as great. So I don't know if that'll help her.

She already talked to Dominguez Hill's coach, and he remembers seeing her because she was the only girl running with guys, at some event in Cal State LA. So yea.
