I've heard that schools in the North do a lot more bussing than schools in the South. (We have a lot of car-riding.) But I don't know if that's true.

At my school... there's one way and one way only: Car. We don't have buses or anywhere to put your bike (though I know two teachers and a student who ride a bike to school.)

So my dad takes me to school every morning. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a car and drive myself this year though.

I walk home from school sometimes. But pretty much only one other person in my school lives close enough to do that.

But I’d say 95% of my school lives at least 2 miles away. A good chunk (like 25%-40%) live between 20-45 minutes away by driving, and about 10%-15% live more than 45 minutes away. We have a bunch of kids who live out of state. =/

The first 9 years, aka Elementary school, I walked. The school is like 30 seconds away if I run, 3 minutes if I walk. So it’s ridiculous to drive. There were busses too though. All of my friends either walked or were driven.

I can still walk to my school, and sometimes I do walk home, but since it’s a 15-20 min walk, my mother drives me to school. Most upperclassmen drive themselves or carpool with a few friends.
There are busses that take kids to my HS too though. So there are options.

^ Who the hell would leave their door unlocked?

When we still lived in the South, I took the bus everyday. Now we’re in the Southwest, and there are absolutely no buses in my county, which is stupid. So my dad drives me everyday.

I take a bus to school. The bus stop is only one block away from my house. If I have a large project to carry to school, or have to go to school early for NHS, or whatever, my father would drive me there. Nearly everyone in my incoming senior class has a car, and apparently, I am the oldest student on the bus.

car there, walk back. Walking really gives you a good opportunity to reflect on your day without nuisances like AP testing overshadowing your thoughts.

I usually get a ride from my friend’s mom, but on the rare occasion we have a delayed entry/snow day/she’s sick, I’ll take the train in. I usually take the train home because I usually have an afterschool activity, but if I don’t, I’ll get another ride.
