HOW do you go about asking for BETTER FINANCIAL PACKAGES

Yes, it is that time to wrap up the college decision process with financial talk.

My question is:
How do I ask my financial aid advisers for a better financial aid package in the most optimum way?

I have never done this so I (as well as many others) will be completely new at this.

ANY and ALL Help will be awesome!!
THANKSS

I just sent a casual email first to my school’s FA office to see if it was even possible. I basically just told them that I was really interested in attending their school, but the cost is holding me back. Is there any way my FA could be increased? … something along those lines.

They emailed me back and told me that unless my FAFSA/CSS was wrong, it wasn’t likely to be changed. Unless there are new circumstances or something.

I am sure this is the standard email they send to anyone who asks this question.

Basically: we have to present new information.

I have also heard of some students asking schools to match scholarships.

There’s also this thread on this topic already: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/478938-can-you-negotiate-more-scholarship-grant-money-4.html</a></p>
