How do you guys break five minute mile?

<p>running a fast mile is more complicated than just one or two things you can do to improve. i would say though, the most important are:</p>

<p>1) decent distance base in the off season, running at least 5 days a week
2) strength training
3) speed work specific to the mile.. your coaches should be guiding you here.
4) listening to your coaches</p>
