What if there is a word that you do not know the meaning of as one of the answer choices? Do you skip that question entirely or pick another answer choice that seems right?

Should you ever choose that as an answer or should you just assume that it is the wrong answer (if you cannot eliminate more than 2 answers).

Well, it's much easier if there are two blanks, of course, because if one of the words (the one you know out of the two) fits perfectly in the first blank while the others are flops...then voila! :P

But err...I don't know. Generally, though, I've found that even if I don't know the meaning of the word, I can usually guess its basic connotation just by looking at it (which comes from extensive reading). Memorizing some roots might help, as well.

You shouldn't assume something isn't the answer just because you don't know what it means (aka, it's hard). The difficulty of the words in the CR sentence completions is exaggerated, but there are a couple of tough questions near the end. If you know the meaning of some of the words but none of them fit, don't force it. Sometimes, too, you just have to go with your gut. Trust your intuition unless you have a good, concrete reason not to. Also, remember that some words have multiple (secondary) meanings.

Yeah, this post is sorta incoherent. Sorry. Hope this helps a little.

Sparknotes 1000 is a good list to study. You HAVE to memorize or learn some words if you wish to do well on the vocab section.
