I can never get myself to study because I'm a major procrastinator. I keep thinking that the SAT's are really far away when its actually right around the corner (I'm a sophomore, planning to take as a Junior). I recently bought over 100 worth of study books that you guys recommended me, and I was wondering if some of you could share study tips, how to not procrastinate, and how to concentrate on work. Thanks!

took it the first time without studying and only scored 1980 (which is way below my standards and what I thought I would get). The “low” score made me want to study. And I eventually brought it up to 2300+!!! :D

Wait until you have a homework assignment you really hate. Then do SAT instead of HW. Works like a charm.

^LOL. that actually made me laugh so much. It works too! I work on SAT stuff whenever I’m tired and sick of biology…

You have got to reach deep down inside and get some!

Just say to yourself… " If I don’t do good on the SAT I’m not getting into my dream school. I’ve worked too hard to not get into my dream school, and I’m not gonna let my procrastination problem get in the way of it. I want to do good, and I will do good. So lets study this crap! " That’s what I told myself for the SAT I just took. I hope it did me well, lol. Good luck.

Mentally scream at myself to do it. And then add a bunch of positive reasons of why you should do it and what will happen if you don’t

I tried to study for short bursts of time rather than trying to slog through all day study sessions. I had a lot of SAT apps on my iPod that motivated me to study when I was in a boring situation, like on the bus or waiting for an appointment. I also would print of sections of a test and just do a few problems whenever I had time. Also, if you want to really focus, go into a room with no distractions, no tv, no phone, etc. and just work! Remember doing these small things can totally change your future.

Lol, like saccharinegray said,

It can help if you study for the SAT first then do your homework.
BUT don’t risk your GPA for you SAT scores :P

Or you should get your friends and families to think you are studying your Ass off for the
SAT
Then before you know it, you will ACTUALLY be studying your ass off.
Just remember, this SAT score can change your life.
