How do you guys stay motivated?

I was wondering some of the techniques you guys use to stay motivated in the gym and in studies ..

Chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

It sounds cheesy but, honestly, just think about your future. Concentrate on where you want to go to college/what you want to do with your life and how you need to succeed in high school to make your goals a reality. That’s what keeps me motivated during the most stressful times; but that’s only academically. As for the gym, I can’t say much. Lol.

Whenever I start losing focus when studying, I stop, and I go exercise. Push-ups, jogs, whatever. Beats sitting there staring at a something you currently have no interest in.

On a macro level, I tell myself that I want to live a relatively happy life, and that studying is important.

In the gym … when they’re other people around I look at how hard they’re working it and I try to emulate them. I also tell myself that if I can’t do it now, then I’ll likely never be able to do it. If I can’t do 100 pushups now, then when? Most likely never - at least not in this life. Yeah. I get pretty deep even @ the gym. If you could read my thoughts at the gym, you’d probably see me thinking about hemoglobin and lusting after hemoglobin molecules with eight heme groups.

Honestly, the possibility of disappointing my loved ones is what keeps me going. I’m pretty self-conscious and dislike disappointing people for some reason.

For school whenever I don’t want to do my homework/study/skip some EC I think about my goals. I want to go into medicine and I know that going to a college with a strong pre-med program will help. If I really need motivation I go on the website of my dream college.

Thanks for sharing … Hmm I should give it a try

I take a lot of pride in everything I do. I want everything I do to be the best I can, and thats always in the back of my mind. When I get completely demoralized though, I go and do something that relaxes me (usually this is chilling out to some music or playing a game of Madden or something), and then head back to it.

I do it for the sake of being a perfect child so my daddy will brag about me. Nah, just kiddin brah :-}
But Heeyyyyyyy, if i do it now, i have time to hang out with my friends later!

In the gym, the 10/10 hotties :]

In the studies, career and money

I look at my long time goals :):)

Money. I think of all the pleasures I can have later if I just stop complaining right now, and sit down and study. And I think how much better I’ll be than everyone else. And how I’ll be able to tell someone, one day, that I made it in life, when everyone else didn’t. Or how good it’ll feel to be able to support Republican economic policies cause I’m in the top 1%. Or whatever other rationalizations I come up with. But it usually has to do with success.

boys. boys. and boys.
and the fact that in a few more years, its all over.

^except then College comes after. It’s way better, I think many will agree.

As for the topic, well, I didn’t have to try to motivate myself, really. Fitness, I just did a sport after school, and then a workout or two on days I didn’t have school. My family is very athletic and fit so it’s normal, I guess. I like feeling fit too, beats feeling out of shape. And school, I like getting A’s. Or better yet, being an outlier and getting crazy high test scores :D

Edit: crazy high scores compared to the class, not CC.

The answer to the question is quite simple, just pray and wish you could be ME.
LOL.

I just remind myself "Do you really want to turn out like your parents???!! Keeps me going lol

I just like learning. Call me crazy. XD
Well, except English. I’m NEVER motivated for English.
