How do you intend to pay for college?

Well, yeah.

But living in Gainsville isn’t very expensive. Plus, that’s why I have parental help. :)

I hope to get most, if not all, of the cost covered by the college and outside scholarships. I’ll take some loans, but I don’t want to have any more than $10 000 in debt when I graduate, and that includes credit card debt.

Pretty much all financial aid. I can’t really rely on parents for monetary assistance. I’ll work and take out loans if necessary, but I’d really like to avoid the loan part.

If I end up going to UF, Bright Futures will cover tuition, but I don’t know what to do about everything else since I doubt a summer job will cover it all.

If I don’t get a ridiculously large scholarship, I’m not going.

Mostly financial aid.

Like the OP, I plan on doing work-study to get spending money. When I’m already asking my family to dish out about $3-4000 a year, I’d hate to ask for more for books or some other, more frivolous things.

Thanks for the kind responses, but that wasn’t what I was going for, albeit a bit exaggerated. My point is that like anyone, I’d take the best financial aid deal possible regardless of college, and that money factor I simply consider to be triple the importance of anything else. I’m not sure how this works, but undoubtedly, I’ll have to pay for something…how else would I eat? (i’m not sure if there are eating scholarships and textbook scholarships available, but if there just may be…)
That’s fairly obvious. I didn’t mean to come off as too stingy, but eh, my point is that money is probably the most important factor by a longshot, triple the times what others usually consider it to be of importance.

Yeah my parents are totally overreacting over the financial situation (not that I’d blame them…). While a ton of kids my age are like “Oh, my parents just say ‘apply to whatever and don’t worry’”, I’m like AHH! cuz it’s frustrating knowing they can apply to whatever whereas my options are strongly limited because my parents worry too much over the tuition…

Anyway, as a response to the thread:

financial aid thing > scholarships > relatives helping (they’re ■■■■ rich and willing to help) > parents and my money > working at college

That’s the order for me. If after going through everything and I still have like hecka money to pay, I’m not going there…

Yes, I understand.
I’m applying to a few schools in Boston (BU, Northeastern, etc) + a few schools in my home state, New Jersey (TCNJ, Drew, Princeton, maybe Rutgers etc). Although it took me a long time to come to terms with my financial situation, I’ve realized that I’d rather attend a public school in my state on a scholarship, as opposed to ruining my future with student loans.

What counts is the individual character of a person, not the school he/she attends.

Btw I’ve tried this, and it makes great money. Although it wasn’t for an art class, so I can’t comment on that.

If I don’t go to school in Florida, I’m going to need need financial aid/scholarships… and lots of it.

If I go to school in Florida, well, Bright Futures has me taken care of. But my parents haven’t saved anything for college and I’m saving money, but I don’t think it’ll make much of a dent in the long run.

I pick C, selling my body on the streets. Final Answer!
