i'm going to take a butt load of courses in the fall, along w/ a part time job, so i'm browsing for PDAs. paper just doesn't work too well for me. any suggestions on what I should get?

I use post-it notes stuck to my bed. Every time I get a new thing I have to do I write it on a post it note and stick it in the right place (according to date.)

I would keep things in my head for the most part. It worked perfect for me, but obviously this is not the best option for everyone. I would suggest getting a calendar to hang on your wall and writing dates/deadlines in on it. This way, it's somewhere easily visible. I can't help with PDAs, though, sorry.

oooh post its are a lot cheaper than a PDA! haha

yeah, i'm already doing the calendar thing. it only works for events. not so much homework assignments.

If you have a cell phone it's calender program might have all the PDA stuff you need. Sticking post-it notes on a cell phone could get complicated though.

I don't really think it's that difficult to manage school and work. I keep a basic planner for school assignments and occasional events. Additionally, I have a calendar right above my desk that I mark up in advance. Aside from that though, I don't do much.

im going to use my celly!!

i use the ical application on my macbook. it has a calendar and to do list and is easy to update, etc.

I use a couple of methods.

I use a regular student planner for the most part. It's helpful for writing in daily assignments, work hours, appts., things to do, and keeping it updated. I also like it because it's portable and I can take it in my purse, so if something comes up, I can just pencil it in.

In my dorm room, I have a dry erase calendar. I write down long-term assignments, appts., and other time-consuming things there (not really day-to-day assignments), which helps me plan ahead. Seeing major assignments laid out over the course of a month is a lot more beneficial than just thinking about what's due tomorrow.

I also have rainlendar on my laptop (http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php).

I've considered getting a PDA, but they're expensive and I feel like I'd be too lazy to input information. I find it to be a lot less time consuming to just write it down.

i use an old-fashioned agenda book like it's my job.
i don't usually refer back to it much, except for maybe page numbers or whatever, but writing things down helps me to remember them.

oooh thanks for the rainlender info. i was looking for something like that.

Rainlender works, I also recommend 30 Boxes (http://30boxes.com/) or Grade Fix (http://www.gradefix.com/).

I always buy a planner thing at the beginning of the year, but i just end up using my head.

I always program important test and paper dates into my computer so that I receive e-mail reminders to my inbox. This is because I am afraid I will forget a date, but I haven't ever done so.

So, essentially, I run on memory, the human kind. My PDA is unopened in a box. Maybe I'll sell it on e-bay this week.

Mozilla Sunbird is a good calendar program that I found recently.

Oh yeah, I use Rainlendar, too. :)

I also have a planner for homework assignments.

Just remember when the assignments are due.

a nice legal pad

for school-related things, i use schoolhouse for mac. keeps track of your classes/grades/etc.

i have a palm treo, but I never use it. somehow i manage to keep everything organized in my head.
