how do you keep your life organized? (do you have a PDA?)

I am religious about using my day-planner (one that has one page for each day, and is marked by the hour), along with post-it notes. It works just as well (if not better) than a PDA!

My planner and lists.

I use this overly fancy planner I got from Franklin Covey. I'm sure a $5 one from Wal-Mart would work just as well but this one makes me feel smart and professional :D

I couldn't use a PDA; I have an irrational fear that it'll corrupt and loose all my data.

PDAs are overrated. An agenda works fine. Your brain also has some storage space.

This is coming from a chemical engineering major who takes 5 courses + 1 lab every term, and sometimes an extra course and another lab.

I use Active Desktop Calendar and a normal planner.

I use an agenda planner to keep track of everything - assignments, tests, special events, weekends I'm going home... Then this past year I also had a big calendar next to my bed that showed two weeks at a time, and I'd write the big things on that as well.

i just got a blackberry which works well for planning things. i can sync it with my computer so I can input information on the computer or the blackberry.

i just got a huge desk calendar.. i think thatll work pretty well cause it has room to write down long term assignments and events. in hs i used a standard planner for school stuff then i had a regular calendar on my wall for events.

i think im really going to like the desk calendar though.. color coded and everything :)

something that my D is going to do is have binders for each class, and in each binder have a clear plastic pencil case, zipup kind with a highlighter, pens, 3/5 cards, etc, so she can grab the binder knowing it has all she needs for those classes

Also, everynight before bed, spend 10-15 minutes and get orgzanized- clothes, papers, double check you have all you need, that time at night will save much stress in the morning

A white wipe off board for reminders and to do lists, a bulletin board for flyers, etc

You can print out stuff from the web for each class and put it in binder if profs have websites

Be dillegent about checking email, and school calendars

And every Sunday or whatever day works best, but Sundays are good, spend 1/2 hour preparing for the week, catching up with other paperwork, picking up, etc

that bit of time can do wonders

wow citygirlsmom, i wish i could be as diligently organized and methodical about my stuff as you describe your D to be.

i agree with leah, i write everything down in a day planner but never have to go back to it. writing stuff down makes me remember it; it's weird.

but im probly gonna download rainlender bc i wont be able to remember the vast amounts of dates i'll have once school starts ;-P

I have both a PDA and an agenda--each works extremely well. The only real benefit of having a PDA as opposed to a daily planner/agenda, is that it can be taken anywhere, alarms you when you've something due, and is considerably smaller. Seriously though, all you need is a plain sheet of paper to write a to-do list if you intend to stay organized. But if you really want to purchase a PDA, I suggest the Palm Treo (the latest model). Blackberry also has a few good models.

^^ Good luck with your "butt-load" of courses!

dayplanner and a dry erase board.

If you're still thinking about PDA's, Palm Tx is decent for a Palm, or Palm Z22 (but it's as basic as it gets). And for Pocket Pc, one of the best is IPAQ hx2495. I myself use Dell Axim x51v, but it's more expensive because of the graphics accelerator.

I use a Franklin Covey planner, and it works great.

i have all the gadgets but i dont use them for that! its all in my head. and i have a busy schedule. the old fashioned way works best.

I have a monthly dry erase calendar and keep everything in Outlook's calendar as well.

I use an agenda and my google calendar. They work great for me.

I keep everything in my head :)

I would be so lost without my post-it notes. I also have a notebook in my purse, and I write at to-do list everyday. I put everything on it, even if I know I won't forget to do it..knowing me, I will forget!

I've been using the Windows Calander, but I think I'm going to look into the Gradefix thing. It looks perfect for me!
