The guidance counselor has submitted the rec? My counselor opted for the hard-copy papers, so I printed them out and brought them to her. The site doesn't seem to show any "completed and downloaded" area for that. How can I tell? The deadline is soon.

If the counselor does it on paper, then I don’t think you can check it on the common app website. Can you just ask them if they’ve sent it in?

Yes. I just already kind of did that, but I got no response. I feel if I asked again, it’d be being pushy.

Have you gotten any login information for the school admissions portal? You would probably be able to see there if they’ve received the recs. But even then, the counselor might have sent them, but if they haven’t been processed yet, they might not show up

It’s worth it to be a little pushy in a nice way. Counting from the day my GC told me she’d released it (for paper mailing) it took 8 days for one of my schools to confirm to me that they received my GC rec and transcript. I still don’t know why it took that long, but I wish I had been a little more forceful with my GC. I ended up missing the first batch of decisions on Oct. 1 at my rolling admit school.
