i looked at the collegeboard list for colleges, and for colleges like UC Berkeley all they say is if you take math you need to take the IIC. and some like UPenn and Stanford don't even mention how many you need at all. How do I know how many/ which ones i need? Thanks!

You look on the CB site and it says how many you need. Your best bet is to visit the school’s website, however for weird exceptions like the UC’s policy. I can’t think of any schools that only require only one test and I can only think of two colleges that require three: Harvard and Princeton, so make sure you take at least two in different areas.

For UCB, make sure that you take two tests in different areas. In other words don’t take Chem and Bio (two sciences)- instead, take Bio and Math II.
