How do you learn Spanish vocabulary?

Or any new language
I find it hard to memorize vocabulary, especially irregular verbs and sentence structure. How do I practice them to become part of my own?

Just practice them and continue to study Spanish. When I first began Spanish I thought I would never remember 50 verbs. Now I am taking spanish 5 this year and know well over 200+. eventaully it will become natural. One thing my teachers forced on us was repetition, repetition, repetition. We would also sing songs about the verbs and structures and came up with clever phrases to help us.

do you where to practice them online?
I mean, it’s hard because I hardly use them words since I have nobody else to practice with
So how many years have you been taking spanish?

watch films and telenovelas, read books and listen to songs in spanish (there are some really good argentinian bands if you are into indie rock). Its way better to learn and memorize new words than to simply mmorize them from word lists. Also try to spek a lot in spanish and use the new words you learned in context.

This is a good website for conjugations:

[Learn Spanish online](http://www.spaleon.com/)

I also use Quizlet, another website, to memorize vocabulary. It’s free to make an account and you can test yourself on spelling, unlike paper flashcards.

Use SRS!!!
Look it up on wiki if you don’t know what that is!!! I use anki.

I just finished Spanish I… and I use that. It helps a lot. I don’t even study for test because of anki.

I also am studying Japanese kanji and kana (the chinese characters and japanese characters). I use anki for that too.

watch novelas

Si quieras practicar espa

^If you want to practice Spanish more, you can send me a message on CC?

Yay for cognates!

In Latin, we had mass flashcards. We’d get maybe 25 a week, we’d study them, and they’d show up in our translations. So, we’d pick up the words.
In French, words just seemed to come naturally. We learned them, then we used them.

^ Haha, good job Millancad :stuck_out_tongue: .

You can buy boxes of flash cards at Barnes and Noble or probably lots of other places. DD also had a verb book for her high school language class.

FreeRice.com has some Spanish on there.

I’ve been learning Spanish for 5 semesters but we have block schedules, so it’s like 5 years technically. My school uses conjuguemos.com to practice online, also major extra credit points. We watched video, sang songs, did projects, etc. In Spanish 4 we could only speak Spanish or your grade was deducted.

****. Spanish.

For conjugations, conjuguemos.com is great. I use it whenever I have new irregular verbs to learn.

@Rockn, it’s quieres* Hate to ruin the party like that :stuck_out_tongue:
Si+present=present, future, or command.

I agree with everyone else here, though. Speak, think, write, read, listen as much as you can in Spanish.
