I’m a senior who’s currently looking into Alabama. I’m interested in Human Rights (I know this isn’t a major at UA), Sociology, and Public Policy with a Pre-Law Emphasis. I’m not sure which of those majors I will ultimately end up choosing, but I know that’s the direction I’d like to go. I’d like to eventually practice Human Rights Law.

I have visited campus before, and was a little overwhelmed by the size. But now that I have visited more schools, I don’t feel like it is actually that large.

How do you like Bama? Everyone I’ve talked to seems to have nothing but good things to say about it.

I’m from California if that makes a difference.

Given your interests, check out UA’s Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility. Contact Stephen Black, who’s the director and an attorney, to discuss your interests. He’s super approachable and helpful. My son was a T.A. for him last semester.

I’m a native Californian and so are by Bama kids. We moved to Alabama a few years ago with my H’s job. Bama is becoming more and more popular with Calif kids. :)

you might want to get in contact with a crazyspaghetti. She’s a Calif student at Bama with the same interests as you…human rights, law school, etc. She also is a leader for the Alabama Action in Costa Rica honors trip.
