FSU is one of those schools, that I don't know weather I should apply or not. I've almost decided that I will, but I'm not quite ready to put them on my application list yet.

So my question is why should I?

Whats Talahasee like? Whats the School like? If anyone is majoring in Poli Sci, what has your experience with the program been? and in short how much do you recomend the school?

Keep in mind Tallahassee is the state capital, so naturally, we have a great political science program.

Having been to UCF, USF, UF, and of course FSU’s campus, I think FSU’s is the nicest. It has everything a large campus has, but is very compact. You can walk from one side of the campus to the other in 15 minutes.

Tallahassee is a great college town, but being the state capital, it’s more than JUST a college town.

So to be short and to the point, if you are majoring in Poli Sci, you should at the very least apply. You’re quickly ruling out a great, if not your best, option by not doing so.

I attended freshman preview a few months ago at FSU and it was snowing flurries with a temperature of 15º in the evening. I’m going to freshman orientation tomorrow and it’s supposed to be around 97º with a realfeel temp of 115º…a hundred degrees difference! Whether you like your weather hot or cold…FSU’s got you covered.

Having a school next to a capitol does not naturally make it have a good political science program. It just makes it relatively easy for students to intern if they want. Political science offerings are very slim in my experience; with only a couple of stand-out teachers.

“Having a school next to a capitol does not naturally make it have a good political science program.”

I don’t think anyone is trying to say that this is the only reason FSU has a great polisci program, but it obviously has a distinct advantage because of it.

I never said that was the only reason; I am just challenging the fact that the location has to do with the strength of the program. The only advantage comes with the location of internships, not the academics.

I am also majoring in Poli Sci, and I started my freshmen Summer C Session three weeks ago. So far, everything has been great, and I’m sure it will only become better as I move into my major!

“Don’t go to FSU, come to UF because we all know FSU is for UF rejects.”

I wish someone could explain to me why people that are going to UF find it necessary to slam another school on it’s message board. You got into UF, congratulations. Believe it or nor, but not everyone wanted to go there–they didn’t like the arrogant vibe that seems to permate it, as is apparent in your post. Why don’t you just go celebrate on the UF board and unless you have some constructive information to impart, spare us the derogatory comments.

Desi (i can tell you are Indian, so am I) you truly are a disgrace to our race. I think we all know that nonsense image that UF projects. Really, without their stroke of luck in the football program in these past years, would there be so many moronic applicants? Not only does UF excel in hyped up party atmosphere (considering most are obese nerds), but they also got their lousy excuse for a football chant (*** GATOR CHOMP?) handed to them by Alabama. Oh, such a great day it will be when Christian Ponder gives the Orange and Blue, a Black and Blue.
