How do you make sure clothes aren't stolen?

i'd stop being such a ****ing wanna be prep fake ass lacrosse player and never shop at hollister again. give the clothes to a homeless guy.

Who steals clothing? And why in god's name did you buy a $65 shirt...let alone FIVE!?

yeah, your pretty stupid for buying a 65$ shirt. 5 times.
spoiled.

It doesn't matter that he spends a ridiculous amount of money on clothes. When a pair of 4$ underwear was stolen from my dryer i was upset. Clothes stealing doesn't happen so often, stop being a douche about 65$ shirts, because it is more likely that YOU will lose a shirt than people stealing. Lots of peple own 65$ shirts, and if its AF/hollister, hahahaa thats freaking mall clothing that half the school walks around in. Get off your high horse plz, because no one (well 99% of people) won't have the urge to steal anything.

And in college, there are people who spend way more on clothing one of my friends paid 70$ for a TANK TOP, and buys 200$ jeans the same way that i buy $40 ones.

Ridiculous/spoiled or not, that's their own choice. Even though I cannot imagine dropping that much money on one pair of jeans ($200=shopping spree! for me :p), they have the right to buy whatever clothes they want to with their/their parents

ok indian your clothes are not expensive!!

wow a $40 pair of shorts...i'm sure there are A LOT! I REPEAT A LOT! MORE people at your school with way more expensive stuff!!!

c'mon its hollister and abercrombie....ya gotta love 'em but if its not stolen than they will fall apart after 3 wears anyways!!!
I'm mainly concerned about the polos. That's around $350 worth of polos. For most people, $70 for a shirt is expensive. I do not own anything that says abercrombie or hollister (shirtwise). I've had my shorts/pants for years also.
i agree with lolo....its not like you're taking Armani or DG to school, Hollister and Abercrombie are a dime a dozen..chill.
When you spend your own hard earned money on stuff, stuff seems valuable. Dime a dozen? Maybe at Goodwill?
yea INDIAN,,,you're a loser for thinking people will steal your hollister shorts and ralph lauren polo...get over that **** and worry about other stuff...i mean if you are worried about this type of **** than a feel so sorry for whoever is stuck living iwth you!!!
Actually I think about other issues before I sleep everyday. Chemical engineering rigor, making friends, roommates, dorms, schedules, lifting, family, future. It's not a crime to care about things you worked hard for. And I hardly consider myself a loser.

Prep fake ass lacrosse player. Wow. Everyone who wears these clothes falls into that category? I've never even played lacrosse, I'm most definitely not a prep, and I'm very true to myself. I shop hollister and abercrombie purely for their jeans and shorts, which I find very comfortable and good looking.

People do it in college because it's really easy to. When you're not in your room maybe your roommate leaves the door open and leaves for a minute. Someone could come in and easily steal them, or anything else. Maybe someone would come in the laundry room and steal them. I have my own $ to spend so don't worry about my expenses.

I work for my clothes, and the polos are different colors. Learn how to type if you're going to insult my intelligence. Not everybody wants to shop at Walmart.

My gosh I certainly did not deserve that much criticism. Maybe I sounded a little pompous thinking my clothes were high priced, but when I think about it they are a bit expensive. I don't know anyone who wears designer clothes yet, so maybe I was a bit naive. But then again, this forum seems to be filled with immature highschool nerds (no offense to people who aren't nerds or who didn't criticize me) who don't understand people want help, not pointless criticism.

Anyways, what else can I do to prevent theft.. thanks.

"When you spend your own hard earned money on stuff, stuff seems valuable. Dime a dozen? Maybe at Goodwill?"

haha, nah..actually I'm quite a sucker for the English fashion. Ben Sherman, Simon Carter, Fred Perry, Gola, etc...I have hella Kenneth Cole **** too..all bought with my 'hard earned money'...although I wouldnt say too hard earned. The problem was solved simply by leaving all the expensive **** home and taking a trip to kohls and buying like 3 polos for 35 bucks. And a bunch of other cheap ****.

And stop this lacrosse player bashing :)

The only part that buggs me is that you assume that your roommate and others will steal your clothes. It's the attitude of,
I'm pretty sure even a roommate or his friend would steal them
To me that says your being overly paranoid. I have never heard of someone's roommate just taking their roommate's clothes, except for girls but usually that's just long term borrowing and is eventually returned.

To the above poster.. I'm very sorry but the "would" in that sentence was supposed to say "could".. lol is that why everyone is ****ed?

i dont get it why is everyone being so mean to "indian." i honestly agree, i dont want to lose my clothes. my clothes arent very expensive, but the point is i want to keep my $hit safe in college. it's my property, and i too would appreciate any advice. im sorry if you people have an issue with people who care about their stuff.

and also, stop bashing lacrosse players. some of my best friends are lacrosse players and theyre some of the finest boys i know. and just fyi, i live about 20 mins away from duke, and let me tell you, the one thing u can do to get yourself ostracized around here is to bash lacrosse players.

how do you make sure you arent shot the second you walk outside? you dont. well, at least i hope none of you sport bullet-proof vests.

point? calm down!

does this mean its a great idea to leave your door propped open when youre at class and your clothes in the dryer for 72 hours? not at all. if youre worried, lock your door when you leave the room (ask your roommate to do the same) and pick up your laundry promptly. if youre really worried, study in the laundry room for those two hours every week or two. and if thats not enough to make you comfortable about your more expensive articles, dont bring them. simply, and this applies to more than just clothes, dont bring anything you dont need and cant afford to lose or ruin.

that said, i survived three years of college both not locking my door and forgetting about my clothes in the dryer and didnt lose a thing. odds are you wont, either.

dont be so paranoid

if your so scared of getting them stolen dont even bring em. stupid

hahahah indian ur funny, try a 500 dollar phone and some 1500 dollar laptop, maybe you dont have those , maybe all you have are those clothes

The difference between would and could is deffinetly a big one. Thanks for clearing that up.

Indian-- it's sad you're assuming your roommate is going to 1) care how much you spent and 2) rob you.

Honestly if you keep your stuff neat and where it's supposed to be (drawers, closet, under bed storage, whatever), then 99% of people won't go rummaging through your stuff. Hell-- I've left expensive handbags on the floor and jeans on the back of my chair, and none of my friends (or my roommates friends) have jacked them. As for your laundry machine, it's not really worth it to sit guard next to your machine, but keep a careful eye on the clock. If you're leaving your stuff sitting in the dryer for 2 or 3 hours, then someone's going to take it out and throw it on the table which is just invitation for stuff to get lost or stolen.

"I'm mainly concerned about the polos. That's around $350 worth of polos. For most people, $70 for a shirt is expensive. I do not own anything that says abercrombie or hollister (shirtwise). I've had my shorts/pants for years also."

Again, almost everyone in my school has what you have. So unless you are going to a school that has lots of students who come from below-average income families, you shouldn't worry.

hey indian, i know your fake because before you even enter college you dont trust your roomate. your fake. and that personality of yours is going to ruin your college life. peace

your clothes arent even that expensive.

I asked about clothes. I already have my electronic theft problems taken care of. They're not that hard.

There are always possibilities to consider. Better safe than sorry, right? Read my posts; the "would" was a typo, it should read "could". And I never said my roommate would care how much I spent on clothes.

You must be going to Princeton or something, because "almost everyone" is either a huge exaggeration or a damn lot of rich people to afford numerous $70 shirts and even more expensive clothing items. I'm going to Purdue.

Dude don't even talk to me if that's all the ******** criticism you have. When your expensive **** gets stolen we will see what you think then. There are always possibilities to get a shifty roommate, dumbass. I'm thinking ahead and preparing, I'm not going to sit around and let some lowlife punk (probably someone like you who resorts to flaming on a college discussion board) steal what I worked hard for.

Wow. Whatever man. I think my shirts are a lot but whatever. I'm middle/upper middle class so I guess that's why I think they're somewhat pricey.

Guys seriously quit writing worthless ******** and type something worth my time and yours. I take no pleasure in replying to this ******** but unfortunately I am doing it because I didn't deserve this flaming.

Question: How do you make sure clothes aren't stolen?
Answer: Don't go to a crappy state school in the middle of Ghettoville USA. Everywhere else you'll be fine.

If you're not insulting my school and that was a real comment, then I don't have a reply to that. If that was insulting Purdue, then I must tell you, it's not even a state school. It's a public school. It's not really Ghettoville USA either. If you didn't know, it's a top school for engineering/business but whatever. Not trying to act like my school is great but you are misinformed if this is what you think.
