I know all of us would love nothing more than to go back to sleep after being awakened by our alarm in the morning. Every day I wake up and I have like a battle in my head to either stay awake and get up or fall back to sleep and stay home. Most of the time I win and I bring myself to consciousness but there are times when I lose and I drop my head back onto my pillow and drift away. How do you make yourself get up in the morning? It's like a major struggle for me to wake up I am sooooooo tired and I don't want to go to school!

Today was a win though, I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

maybe try moving ur alarm away from ur bed. that's what i did. now i everytime i wake up i havta deal with this dilemma: either i try to go back to sleep with the alarm pounding in my ears, or i get up and shut off the alarm. usually i'm unable to do the former, so i end up getting up and that's how i get out of bed. if u have a radio alarm, then u can set it so that instead of beeping, it plays a certain radio station, and that may help too.

i do that too, but i always end up getting up, turning the alarm off (and any others I may have set), then jumping back into bed... there must be a better way lol

yup same here..i shut it off..i usually put on a radio station thats makes this horrible ughh sound..I dont think there is a way to get up..i tell myself i can miss that class..its not thatimportant..blah blah..and fall right back to sleep..

What you do is set ur time about 30 min. to an hour ahead. So then when you wake up and think ur late to school. And u freak out then u finally see another clock that says the real time. But then you are so scared of bein late that u have ur jucies flowing and are not tired anymore. It works for me everyday. Then even if you are an hour late. Well guess what no ur not, ur actually on time.

ya, i set mine 1/2 hour before i have to wake up, but then in my mind I know that I set it early and take that extra time to sleep in... doesn't work for me ;)

maybe if u tell your sister or mother or someone to change your alarm clock to random times..and set your alarm so that u wake up the right time but it looks weird on your clock..then u can wake up because your not really sure of the time..hehe..i hope that made sense..if not..oopsie

LOUD MUSIC...lol, my routine up until like a week ago was, climb down from my bed (it was one that's on top w/ a desk under it) turn off my alarm clock and sleep on the couch.....but then i got too many lunch detentions for bein late to school- but trust me- music helps :)

i tried that whole "move your alarm away from your bed" thing but I just get up, turn it off, then get right back in the bed...lol...it just WON'T work with me lol...

Routine worked best for me. Once you get out of the habit of going back to asleep after the alarm goes off, it's easier to jump out of bed when it goes off and be awake for the day. Simple but effective.

I also have an alarm clock with 3 different alarms, nature sounds, radio and buzzer which i set like 5 mins apart, then I ahve my tv set to turn on real loud as well so I have like 4 alarms.

There's a window next to my bed and before I go to sleep at night, I open the blinds a little so the sun can get through in the morning and it wakes me up.

My parents generally wake me up. If they're out of town, I have a friend call me, my alarm clock is too quiet. I can drive down to school in about 4 minutes, so there's no rush.

Using two alarm clocks could help. One clock set a few mins early where you'll be able to press the snooze button and another clock set at the latest time u can wake up. That way, the backup clock can help you wake up in case you press the snooze button too many times.

I think I have some type of sleep apnea or such. I can almost will myself to sleep, its almost crazily insane.

Boring teacher? Fall asleep.
Annoying parents? Fall asleep.
Long bus ride? Fall asleep.
Lots of HW? Fall asleep.

As such, I can will myself into a deep slumber.
But, the reverse isn't true.

I can't be woken up unless you vigourously shake me awake, or something similar.
As you can guess, I have horrible trouble getting out of bed. In fact, most of the time, I don't get out at all. I just ditch class.
