Can you minor across colleges?

Like if you're in CoNR or CoC but want a minor in L&S, how do you do that? Can you?

Arghhhhh...

I actually know people who are trying to do this, so yes it is possible. However, unless you are adamant on doing it, I would advise against it because it is a lot of work. You have to talk to your advisers from both colleges first to make sure that you can satisfy all the requirements. But then again, it would probably depend on what you want to major/minor in, as some combinations are more difficult than others.

It appears you can.

Here is the English department of the College of Letters and Sciences listing the requirements for an English minor:

The English Minor
All students should meet with an adviser in their college or school, their Major Department Adviser, as well as an English Department Minor Adviser.

Note that it mentions advisors in 'their college or school' which suggests that cross-college is feasible.

As another proof point, I found a mention from the Coe that one can earn a minor in Computers Science even if majoring in another college, such as L&S.

Third bit of evidence that this is unexceptional - in the Earning Your Degree brochure from L&S, in the section covering minors, it says " For minors offered by other colleges or schools, please check with the offering department."

No need to arrgh any more.

What about double majoring in two different colleges? Is that allowed?

@rider..
thanks for the good info...
