Like most posters on CC, I have homework I really should be doing right now...however, I don't have any motivation! Students, how do you motivate yourself to get through doing a lot of homework? Any tips?

Eventually I just do it…I’ve habituated myself to getting good grades for so long that the idea of not turning in work isn’t an idea that really occurs to me.

I know that when I finish my HW, then I’ll feel so accomplished and great that I can reward myself with eating lots of food while watching my billion unfinished Netflix series as I try to push college apps out of my head…

Heheh it’s hard. Sometimes. All the time, actually.

i hope you live on the west coast, because if it’s 1 in the morning and you STILL haven’t done your hw, then…

and think about the grade you’ll get when you don’t turn it in

Umm. How about a zero if i dont do it

Mostly satisfaction at not experiencing that pitfall in class if I don’t have it done…

I listen to music. If I don’t, I’ll fall asleep and not do it. Music is my motivation.

I’ve finally reached the point in my senior year where money is my only motivation.

Since I’m paying for a great majority of my classes a failed grade would mean money wasted and me getting yelled at by my parents.

My best friend & I have pretty much the same classes (the only differences are with our easy classes - all the AP classes are the same). We are both extremely competitive. That is definitely good motivation!

I also love the feeling when I log onto the online grade book and see a row of pretty little A+ grades. Just one A makes the row a lot less pretty, lmao. Also good motivation.

looking at the clock, realizing it is midnight- 2 am and I need to get up at 5:30…
