So I am one stressed out senior waiting to hear back from USC and I am just wondering how you guys pass your time without getting stressed out.....

As a freshman at USC now, I totally understand the stress you guys are under! Waiting was the worst part, and the way USC sends its acceptances doesn’t really do anything to diminish that stress. But you just need to stop thinking about it - CC made me go INSANE, and I forced myself to stop being on the site constantly, trying to figure stuff out, because it just doesn’t help or change anything. And, ironically, the day I decided to not run outside after the mailman and check the mail myself was the day I received my acceptance envelope. Just try to keep yourself occupied - exercise, go shopping, be with friends - and stay OFF of the computer, and hopefully you’ll hear good news soon. :)

so exactly how does usc send out their acceptances?

I’m stressing out too and I’m constantly on CC or checking my statuses. This may sound odd but I find it helpful to focus on school work instead. I want to finish high school with straight A’s, just as I started high school. This semester is kind of invisible to colleges but I still want to do well in school for my own sake. This distracts me from CC and college staff in general, and it makes me feel better that I’m still putting effort in school, haha.

Focus on schoolwork. Finish out the semester/quarter strong and it’ll get your mind off admissions.

^ It doesn’t seems to be much school work to do this year even though I am currently taking 5 APs. Which sucks and leave me with a lot of time which I spent on CC. T^T

Exe, same here! I’m taking seven classes (4 of which are AP) and have practically no homework. Sometimes I have projects, but I don’t have homework often; for some odd reason, my non-AP classmates are up doing homework until 2AM most nights. Weird, yes.

get Rosetta Stone for a random language and try learning it XD currently on level 1 French, and if you succeed not only will you have successfully passed the time w/o going crazy, but you can say suave romantic phrases in a different language

Maybe get some additional reading in? I know I tend to accumulate a pile of books I want to read but never find the time to do so during the semester. I then plow through them during summer or winter breaks when I have all of the free time.

This is really helpful guys! I appreciate it…

go experience new things

learn to play guitar! hahaha wayy fun and if you doooo get in, then you’ll be able to jam and show off your skills when youre there :)

orrrrrr look for new music/bands online… instant gratification and music is relaxing and can improve your mood, especially when you find cool new stuff

run outside or go to the gym often, working out is the best way to get rid of stress and get your mind to focus on what youre doing at the moment…

uhhh idk hahah those are just some things i do because im definitely obsessing wayyyy too much about hearing from USC

I play videogames because I don’t really have homework anymore. My favorite thing to do is play extemely violent and bloody games (curretly bioschock 2) and just relieve some stress with a little run ‘n’ gun. It’s partcularly fun if you pretend your enemies are evil members of the admission committe that just rejected you (even if decisions haven’t come out, I know).

If you’re not into violent video games looll, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to try to get yourself hyped up about other colleges. That way if you do get rejected from USC, it won’t be as big of a deal. Because when it’s all said and done, everyone here will realize that their efforts to crack these statuses or other CC stuff is kinda pointless because it in no way affects the committees decision; just be patient, I know it’s hard :)

I have found that making very intricate and diabolical plans of retaliation against my postman, Richard, helps me pass the time.

hahaha wheatyyyy. its the best thing to do

I’ve mostly just been passing time with homework and track practice, however, I am getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow and I have a feeling the waiting will be a bit more agonizing…

2 words

MARCH MADNESS.
