How do you plan to decorate your dorm?

What kinds of posters did you put up/plan to put up in your dorm room? Do you have a theme/color scheme?

Any budding interior designers in here?

film noir...

it shall be interesting... I need to find everything in black and white

I'll probably put up some football posters on my side or something.

Well, my current dorm is like a jazz cafe, kind of. It's going to be sick senior year.

Not too much decorations, because we must leave it after the first year, is that not true? I will probably purchase a sofa or seating arrangement, halving the expenses with my living partner

kameni...words of advice...visit your dorm room or get specific dimensions before you go out and buy a futon or couch for the room. it would suck to purchase something that won't fit. do NOT split the cost of a futon with your roommate. suck it up, buy the thing, and share it in the room. or let them buy it and you pay nothing. if you split the cost 50/50, at the end of the year neither of you really "owns" it. but if you purchase it yourself, you can keep it after the year instead of having to argue about who gets it at the end of the year. just something to think about.

Cards is right. My roomie brought the rug and I brought the TV. Now, the tv is mine to use next year, and until the end of time if I want. As far as decorations go, I have posters and framed pictures of me and family and friends. Nothing major; the more you bring, the more you have to pack up and move at the end of the year.

I'm going to go geeky.

Original screenshot of All Your Base, probably some of those pictures from the Calculus Jokes group in Facebook...

Jason Mraz poster! Flying Spghetti Monster poster!

pictures of my friends and family,
my picasso, my dali, and my world map.

oh and my harry potter poster of course.

My room last year basically had a few awesome posters (Muppet Treasure Island, anyone?). The main addition next year will be the sound system I'm putting together. Our common room next year is probably going to have three or four TVs, though. Excellent.

I already bought my comforter, its blue, green, and tan. So that's the color scheme. I'm going to have a bunch of animal posters and peace/anti-war posters. I'm also going to blow up pictures of each of my dogs into a poster since I'm going to miss them insanely. I'm going to try to make it springy looking since its going to be extremely cold and have a ton of snow and be kind of dreary looking.

anime !

i second 88888888!!

Next year I'll be bringing small band/concert posters and postcards to decorate the walls instead of full sized posters, they'll be easier to shove into the bottom of a box when I'm storing things for the summer.

Decorate ?? WHY ?? :D

Posters most likely ones that will lead my roomate to believe i am far cooler than I am.

Lol, well I am a bit of a nerd so my posters aren't necessarily "cool" - and the color scheme will be whatever color my bedding ends up being (I'm not picky, I just want a down comforter so I'm cumfy) Anyway, my posters are one of a map of the world, one of the brain, the periodic table, and one of Albert Einstein sticking his tounge out.

But I have a single dorm so my posters won't be forced upon a roommate.

School of Athens

I'd get meself a few posters of fighter jets et all.

Movie Posters: Amelie, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Moulin Rouge...
Vintage Photos: Suburban Life and the Family Unit and Some Toy and Appliance Ads
Russian and/or American War Propaganda
