Ok the statement that I am going to post might be biased, but I want to hear what I should do. Any advice will be grateful.

I am a junior at international school. Most of the teachers here are from US. Our school has a lot of wonderful and good teachers except this one. He is my AP Calculus teacher. I thought he was good ,but it turns out that he is extremely disorganized and unsociable. At first since I did not know him, I thought he was a good teacher, but later I started to notice his flaws. His test never follows the schedule and his test is only composed of like 4 ~5 questions that he never taught us. Yeah some of you guys might say that" 4~5 question isn't suppose to be good" but NO !
This is because he never follows what he taught us. It never did. I somehow managed to get an A in my first semester but now I have like D. I'm not the only one. Everyone who takes his class hates him, like literally everyone. So this problem went to the principle and they decided to fire him. However we have to take his class until end of the year and he is doing retarded things again.

Yesterday we had our test back. I compared my test to my friend and I noticed that my friend who wrote the exact same process and answer got the question right but I got it wrong. So I went to him and asked him politely why.

But he was so DUMB! like he couldn't explain why and tried to take my points off from other places. So I am literally pissed off.

I once took the same test three time because my class failed it. I told him to grade regardless but he did not !

He say that he used to be a professor. What should I do because I got a 5 on the AP exam for sure but I am failing because of this teachers stupidity.

Since there is inconsistency in the grading, you and your classmates could meet with the principal or other instructional supervisor about this. Tell that person that you have met with the teacher, but that the grading still hasn’t been sorted out.

@happymomof1
Like we already did. And this is like for the 2nd time. I already talked to him but he is Romanian so he cannot speak english and he cannot literally know how to explain !

Using offensive language is not okay. You said "Like we already did. And this is like for the 2nd time. I already talked to him but he is Romanian so he cannot speak english and he cannot literally know how to explain ! " You met with the principal? I agree - getting other students together to talk with the principal about grading inconsistencies is the next step.

Do not use the word “■■■■■■■■” as a pejorative.

Frankly, your English is riddled with errors. Perhaps his is even worse, but you are on shaky ground there.

If you are concerned that you will receive an unfairly low grade that will affect your admissions chances, I would suggest going to an administrator with test papers that clearly prove your point. You will need the cooperation of your classmates.

That is not true, thumper1. Hopefully, we’re looking at different post histories…

OP, the school year is almost up. You’re going to have to deal with it if your school has done the most it can do. It is no use ranting and raving about a teacher’s “stupidities”. Consider this a learning experience.

You should get together with other students and meet with someone else at the school that has authority and will look into and DO something about the unfair/inconsistent/error-ridden grading system. Talk to the counselor. Perhaps your grades could be replaced with your AP scores (5=A, etc.) If the teacher has already been “fired” for incompetence, (or is not having contract renewed), someone should be sympathetic to your and your classmates’ plight. If what you say is true, it does not sound fair to me. (And unfortunately this is a common problem/complaint in math education–teachers with poor English/poor teaching skills.) Don’t give up, but you have to be polite and calmly present all of your evidence to the right person with authority to make changes.

I am assuming you posted here on College Confidential because you hope to get into a US university with your AP classes. You will not get into our schools here or converse well with others if your use the “word” ■■■■■■■■. The people of the US respect our community members who have challenges and disabilities. This includes our mentally challenged individuals. Using the word “■■■■■■■■” to intentionally hurt someone will come back to bite you. Please consider how you use your English language on this forum.

When you have a teacher who doesn’t meet your expectations you can either sit around complaining about it, or you can over-over-compensate and do every problem in the book. Very carefully and thoroughly.

How you deal with it is up to you, but the second method generally results in a better academic outcome.

Is there anyone else you can talk to? Guidance Counselor? Head of the Math Department? School Board?
Can you have your parents talk to the principal? Is this an english speaking school?
Someone needs to arrange to have a translator.

If this is a private school, your parents need to put pressure on the school. Ask them what they are doing
for this semester to make sure you are A) learning and B) getting representative grades.

My kids went to an international school in Europe. It was sort of half British Based and half American Based.
In the british system, it is not about the grades as much as your score at the end of the year on a big test.
For the American system, your GPA is very important for getting into college.
Make sure the school knows that .

Sounds like it’s water under the bridge to me. I think you need to finish out the school year and realize you won’t have this teacher again. It’s time to move ahead. As others suggested, if the principal won’t listen, think about others who might and go from there. Please know that the word “■■■■■■■■” is extremely offensive, even if you were enraged.

@letsgofor5 - please refrain from specifying the teacher and name calling, especially using offensive language. In the US these days, calling someone “■■■■■■■■” is considered an offensive term and besides, using literally there is obviously incorrect anyway. I removed the link and the offensive language. You will get the same results, if not better, if you simply describe the situation calmly and ask for suggestions.
