How does 1400 go in NYU?

How does a 1400 go in nyu cas ed? thanks

I'm not too sure what your question is. A 1400 on the SAT is in the range for NYU (middle 50% of 1300-1450), but admissions are not based on SATs alone.

If your question is whether that score is in NYU's range...the answer is yes, does that itself guarantee you admission, no....as people with that score have been turned down.

Good luck.

One number doesn't guarantee you anything.

This may be helpful to you.

One girl from my high school that got into NYU, I know she had high B's, don't know of her SATs. The point is, her grades were nothing amazing. However, she's wanted to go to NYU all her life, so she must've put a lot of time into the app. She got in.

Ill just give you my personal stats so you know.

I applied to Stern RD with a 2090 (760 Math, 660 Verbal, 670 Writing) or a 1420 on the old SAT. My average was around a 96.5. I got 760 IIC and 730 on Chem along with a 5 on Chem and Euro, 4 on American and Writing. I only had a few EC but they involved leadership positions and I had a job for the past 3 years and worked my way up to assistant manager.

So its not all about the SAT, I am pretty sure that my 1420 is in the lower 50% of Stern. That being said, I think that the other colleges of NYU dont have as high of requirements that Stern does so I think that a 1400 is just fine (if talking about the old SAT).

Like the poster above me, I too got a 2090 and low 1400s out of 1600. I was accepted to Gallatin with a fairly large scholarship if this is of any help.

A 1400 would probably put you in the top 25% for accepted ED students. It's more than enough in the SAT aspect for early decision. Of course SATs are only one part of acceptances...

Ya i had a 2100 (1400) and I got into Stern with a phat scholarship and im a stern scholar.

Man reading all this makes me sad. I had a 2180 (1440 old), 4.05 weighted GPA (top 5-6%), most rigorous course schedule ( 6 APs, several honors classes) good essays, at least decent rec's and subpar-average EC's.

and.. I got waitlisted at Stern. : /

stern is different, 2100 is no guarantee. i know several 2200's and atleast one 2300 that got rejected or waitlisted. don't feel bad, apply for a position on the waitlist they only took 60 out of 1600 something last year(that's for the entire university-including all the schools)- not a lot of people turn down Stern, unless they get into Wharton or some other ivy
