Hi,
My daughter took an ACT practice test at her high school. I found online that the ACT test was from 2008. I’ve been reading that the math seems to be harder on the ACT test recently. Does anyone know if the tests are comparable at all?
Thank you.
I would not practice with nine year old tests. I no longer even use the last edition of the official ACT study guide. She needs to use the most current practice tests possible.
Thank you for the response, @Lindagaf. I’m really surprised our high school is using these for ACT prep.
Technically, the ACT test has not gone through any significant changes since 2008 and there exist a limited number of official practice tests directly from ACT that are not from nonofficial online sources that your school would likely not want to use.
Thank you very much for the helpful reply, @kimclan1.
I do not agree with @kimclan1 entirely. The ACT can and does change things. There are no longer seven passages in the science section, only six, and the test makers have beefed them up so that more reading is required. I believe the overall level of difficulty has risen to keep up with the SAT. Not by a huge amount, but enough to try and trip up test prep companies. The essay has changed notably, and now has increased time as well as a different response format. Use old tests if nothing better is available.
Thank you @Lindagaf - I very much appreciate your insight.
