Compared to the rest of the Cornell schools, is AEM harder or easier to get into

i believe the acceptance rate for AEM is 20%. Generally one of the hardest programs to get into.

affirmative

what is AEM?

isn't it like a business program or something?

a friend of mine is applying to it, but another girl is applying too. He's panicking because the likelihood of both is low he says.

personally i know nothing about it

yeah, it's Cornell undergraduate business program, Applied Economics and Management.

apply to engineering and transfer...

Why engineering? That's pretty hard to get into unless you have great stats.

AEM is Cornell's accredited undergrad business program.

ahhh...thats what I want to get into eventually...

What about the applicant pool? Do you think it is more competitive than other schools in Cornell?

i dont think it's a school, looks as though its a program within the ag school. supposedly the number of people in the program is in the low hundreds (100s?).

i'm not sure these facts are correct i'm going by what my friend tells me, who is applying.

apply to engineering and then transfer into AEM ?

your funny

not exactly a strategy for success

yeah that's why i was like dubya-T-eeff

Wharton is to Penn as AEM is to Cornell.

can someone explain to me the majors that are offered at human ecology... is history 1?

and more comprehensively: http://www.cornell.edu/academics/majors.cfm

Just apply to whichever program best suits your background and prior experience. That will give you the best chance for admission, regardless of acceptance rate.

Internal transfer is quite easy though. In all honesty, an engineer could transfer to AEM if he wanted to. I know an engineer planning just that.

Can u transfer as soon as you get your admission decision... or do you have to spend a full semester at teh college u got accepted into

The Texas Rangers GM graduated from AEM in 1999 and just became the youngest GM in baseball history at the age of 28.

For AEM it takes a total of three semesters to transfer from anywhere officially. This is because you have to take AEM 220 (Intro to Business Management) in the spring of frosh year, and then either AEM 221 (Financial Accounting) or AEM 240 (Marketing) the following fall (i forget which). Once you have completed these, and the other requirements (such as econ 101/102, and good grades), then you can transfer. However, it takes a full three semesters due to the aforementioned requirement.
