how does amsco match up with MC questions on APUSH?

I really need to hear opinions from people who already took the APUSH exam, is the content in AMSCO enough for 90% of the MC part of the actual AP exam? I'm in a regular USH class but am self-studying for APUSH. My teacher told me that all the things I have learned is only 75% of the MC for the real thing, so I need to read the AP version of the textbook for the other 25%. But AMSCO, AMSCO is already 85-90% of whatever I have learned for regular USH - then how does it match up for real AP MC questions?

I'm sorry my question is kind of lengthy... Thanks for your help guys.

I did read the textbook last year, but when exam time came along, AMSCO was my primary source for studying. I did two thorough readings. On the exam, I was certain I got around 65/80 of the MC correct, leaving 5-6 blank and guessing on the rest (meaning I probably got around 70 composite points of the 115-120 needed for a 5 just from the MC). Honestly, I would say reading AMSCO is all you need for a five. Are there a few questions on the exam that aren’t covered by AMSCO but are in the textbook? Possibly. But this late in the game, the amount of time you’d spend reading the textbook would be MUCH better spent reading through AMSCO a few more times. If I were in your position, I would NOT read the textbook.

Best of luck.

Reading AMSCO the Kaplan SAT II book, and crash course got me a 790 on the SAT II in Nov.

I reread the above books and scored a 800 in January (yes, I retook it) so I’d testify to the fact that AMSCO is super helpful!
