How does an Academic Renewal work if I no longer attend that school?

I attended a CSU from Fall 2009- Spring 2011
Left with a 1.7 GPA

Attended my local CC, repeated classes, took more classes and currently have a 3.5 GPA

I talked with my previous CSU and they said they can not help me with an academic renewal because I no longer attend the school.

My CC, basically said they can not do anything about it.

I'm stuck, my cumulative is horrible, and I have already been denied at 1 of the CSU's I applied to for Fall 2013, I'm losing hope that I will not be able to fix my past mistakes.

I am sure people have been in my situation because I have some other post and it seems as though other students are attaining Academic Renewals through their old schools even though they no longer attend

Are there any policies that will help me fix this?

Thanks

Your best bet would be to reapply to that school and be admitted. It’s easier if you are a previous student. Then you can do academic renewal with that institution.

I have never heard of that they can’t do anything, thats just wrong. If you were a student, you can still have your records changed. Get the catalog for the year you attended and look up the policy and find out what steps you can do to get it fixed…if any.

Good luck.

okay thanks ill try getting a catalog for the year i attended.
I agree, its just not right, that they are unable to do anything about it

im in a horrible situation now, application period is over, now im crossing my fingers that another school will accept me.

What’s your cum GPA?
