Hey all, so I have financial need and I won an academic scholarship from beloit. So say my EFC was 15k and I applied for FA, I also won the 22k prez scholarship, how would my finaid package most likely be structured. Would I still have to pay 15k or would be getting closer to a full ride? Any input is helpful, thanks in advance!

yeah, Beloit fa is bad, goodbye.

We found Beloit merit/FA to be good compared to other liberal arts colleges in Midwest. Past years my kids were accepted to Carleton, Grinnell, St Olaf, Lawrence U, and Center, and Beloit was most affordable. East Coast colleges gave us better FA though. I don’t think full ride is plausible: you probably need to pay close to EFC.

ShoeCream, most of those midwestern LACs are on my daughter’s current list, and finances will be a factor…could you name names of east coast schools that gave better FA, just as food for thought?

I think OP may have been asking if Beloit stacks merit and financial aid awards or if they subtract any merit awards from need based awards? I think this varies by college, and needs to be considered if you have a limited budget. It could make a huge difference in the net amount you end up paying.
