Hey guys, I just applied to Cal Poly. I’m hoping my standardized testing scores save me! My stats:

UC GPA - 3.64
1-5 hours of activites/week
Leadership? Yes

October ACT (33):
35 English
36 Math
32 Reading
30 Science

September ACT (33 ):
29 English -> bubbling mistake?
34 Math
34 Reading
35 Science

I submitted both October and September ACT scores. How do they view them? I’ve heard they look at Composite only, but other places I’ve seen they only consider ACT English and Math? Can anyone provide some input? OH and if they select ACT Eng + Math only, they will select my september exam to use for application consideration, right?

I also submitted 1 SAT 2, even though it wasn’t on the application for CSUs:
790 Math 2

They will see the 790 in Math level 2, right?

Cal Poly prefers the ACT and will superscore it, but in your cast you’ve got a 33 composite so you’re fine either way. They do look at the composite score.

Your SAT 2 will be ignored for admissions. It might be used for math placement if/when you’re accepted.

OK guys, I called an asked them how it all works. Good and bad news.

Bad news - they recalculate GPA with their own standards, and this includes 9th grade courses…looks like I’m not going to cal Poly. (2.7 Fresh, 2.9 Soph, 4.3 Junior)

Good news - They superscore ACT. My superscore: 35 Eng 36 Math 34 Reading 35 Science
35 ACT Superscore Composite. Whassup!?

35 ACT but GPA is so low that I probably won’t get in :(
