Is it a blemish to have CC on your transcripts? Also if your GPA is lower at the CC than at the uni, is it affected?

it shouldn’t really make a difference most grad schools puts a bigger emphasis on upper division work which is what you do when you transfer

The largest negative attribute to going to CC is the lack of research experience opportunities from professors. If you knock out your lower division classes first, you can try getting into some REU programs.

Research is far more important than GPA for graduate school in the sciences.

Definitely not… like ^feedayeen said, your second two (or three) years are when you really shine and show whether you’re grad school material. It could be tougher because you don’t have the first two years to lay the foundation for what you’ll be doing your last years… but it isn’t something that you couldn’t overcome with a little bit of aggressive involvement in activities.
