How does CC Determine Their Top Schools?

This thread started on the USC board this morning... I'm curious, does anyone know? USC'ers of course think that if UCLA is there, so should USC. Did UCLA petition to be put in the "Top Schools?" I am just curious.

i think it's by activity... the most popular boards end up on that list, because there are plenty of great schools that aren't on there. then again, i could be wrong.

maybe usnews?

College Confidential uses the top 25 national universities, as originally ranked in the U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best Colleges" published in 2003.

It could also be determined by post count.

It's by the US News ranking. The link used to actually say US News top 25 (something along those lines), but they removed the name a couple of years ago (maybe because they didn't want to biasly advertise their magazine).

same as what flopsy and jyancy said. we must be old-school forumers haha.

there's a similar thread that someone started (a parent?) who thought that tufts should be in the Top Schools also.

it's definitely not by activity cuz some of those colleges on the Top Colleges have very few posts. but of course, the Top Colleges is top colleges, not most popular colleges.

i think it might be the top twenty five from US news minus the ivies, cuz not a single ivy is mentioned on that page.

 That's because all the ivies are listed under their own separate ivy league list.

25. UCLA

Go Bruins!

it'd be better to do it by popularity on CC, UCSD comes up alot... be nice to have its own forum

UCSD actually does have its own forum...

UCSD's is in the same place as USC's. In the Alphabetical area.

lol then y does UCSD pop up on college life so much?
