How does Cornell's undergrad engineering program compare to Stanford's?

I'm planning on applying to both and wondering about which one to pick if I get accepted.

cornell's is colder...:p They're both reputed to be phenomenal. Stanford's GRAD engineering is ranked higher than Cornell's, but Cornell is at the top of the Ivy league, and 12th out of all, so that's not too bad. ;)

Plus that's grad, we're talking undergrad. The quality of education at the schools will be similar, and awesome. At this level, I'd advise you to pick based on non-education stats. Proximity to you, environment, your interests, etc. Any more specific questions?

The thing is, like, imagine trying to choose between cornell and brown? would you go anal about which has a better english department? No, they're both awesome, near the top of the field, and enormously respected schools. It would make a lot more sense to consider the campus life, food, city/rural, student body makeup, etc.

Rather than subscribing, I would recommend waiting until august 19 for the new rankings: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/rankengineering_brief.php
