I am interested in applying to Duke early decision. From what I hear, the law underclassman program isn't that great. What are y'all's take on the matter? I am interested in becoming a lawyer, and really want to go to the school, but I don't want to be left in the dust by kids going to other schools. Thanks!

Duke doesn’t have a prelaw program, mostly because your undergrad major doesn’t actually matter when applying to law school. Duke does, though, have a fantastic Prelaw Dean who will help guide you through the process (even if you apply to law school after you graduate from Duke). He’s been doing it for decades now and has really good relationships with the Deans and admission staffs at the best schools. Let’s just say, Duke students do VERY well in law school admissions.

You’ve got quite a bit of time before you should be worrying about law school admissions. Just focus on getting high grades when you start college, and you’ll do fine during the law school admissions cycle.

[I applied ED at Duke, and now go to a T-14 (MVPN, if you know the lingo) law school.]
