How does Early Decision 2 work?

I’m thinking about apply to Boston U’s early decision deadline in January, since it’s my top choice. I restrained myself from ED 1 due to test scores and the cost to attend. But I’ve improved my scores a bit now and used a calc to estimate the cost (I know it’s probably not accurate, but I know I’ll receive some sort of aid from there).

My main concert is that I’m applying to 5 other schools. Is it worth it to spend the time and lose money on app fees if I end up getting into BU? I know I’d have to withdraw my other applications. I just don’t know if I’m willing to take the risk, since BU is kind of a low-reach for me.

If you apply ED2 you will need to submit your other applications since you won’t get a decision until February which is after the application deadlines pass.

@happy1 The BU ED II decision date is February 15th. That is well past the deadline for submitting RD applications to many schools.

@TomSrOfBoston Was I unclear? I told the OP to submit the other applications because the Feb. decision for BU is past the application deadline.

If I was unclear OP, you cannot wait until you hear back from BU in Feb. to apply to other schools as it will be past the deadline. Submit your other applications on a timely basis. And you absolutely should not only apply to BU.

@happy1 Oops, sorry, I misread your post.

@TomSrOfBoston Glad we are on the same page. :-*
