How does "early decision" work?

<p>I am planning on applying for the Fall 2012 semester. Cal Poly SLO is my first choice for colleges. I am a transfer student coming from a community college. Do you have a better chance at getting in if you choose early decision? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!</p>

<p>early decision is only for freshmen. It means that if you go early decision and are accepted, you’re legally obligated to go there.</p>
