<p>So, I just got rejected from Davis, and I didn’t know that apparently they admit by major or something? I don’t know.</p>
<p>I got rejected with a 3.95 UC GPA, 2060 SAT I, 740/660 SAT II. I applied for a Biotechnology major, but I didn’t have my heart set on it, and I would have picked something else if I had know it was hella hard to get into.</p>
<p>Yeah each college has a cutoff of its own, so if your two majors were both in COE, that didn't help. Pretty much that is the explanation for why all these stellar students are being rejected and the lower stats (presumably picking something easier than engineering) are being accepted. The major.</p>

<p>Yeah, that's stupid. I hear UCSD just tells you that you got in, but you have to pick a different major or something if you didn't meet the point total for that major.</p>
